United Futbol Academy offers the U7-U8 Future Academy Program for players who are born in 2015 & 2016 looking for a more challenging environment to develop their soccer skills. FUTURE ACADEMY Candidates for the Future Academy program will exhibit the following:
Ideally, players should be recommended for the program by their current coach, the Recreational Director or one of UFA’s professional staff. Players should have a minimum of 1 year playing in a recreational program. Parents who feel their players have the above qualities and have not been identified will have the opportunity to have their player assessed for placement. If you are interested in joining this program, please login into your Sports Connect account, register your player(s) for the 2022-23 UFA Metro Atlanta Academy Tryouts 8U-12U, and notify the director at Derrick@unitedfa.org PROGRAM INFORMATION Calendar and Schedule Participation Fee* Uniforms Link to order player uniforms and UFA gear: coming soon Here’s how to order your player’s uniform: - Click on the kit you want to buy. Future Academy and Recreational uniforms are the same. Please ensure you take your time and order the correct sizes/player number Once the kit is printed it becomes your kit. What we mean is, once they print your number on the kit you own it, even if you made a mistake on the number. Training Practice Days: Mondays & Wednesdays Games Game days will be scheduled on Saturday mornings at Keswick Park. Games will be in a 2v2 and 4v4 format; there will be no goalkeepers, throw-ins, or corner kicks. Fields will be approximately 12x18 yards for 2v2 and 24x36 yards for 4v4, using small-sided goals approximately 3’x4’. There will be multiple games going on at the same time and, depending upon the total number of players, we will have 1 or 2-time slots for players. Game Days: Saturdays Players will not be placed on “teams” in the traditional sense. They will belong to a pool of players and can be placed on teams using a variety of criteria such as current level of play, randomly chosen teams, or mixing boys and girls, to name a few. The director may schedule games per weekend versus recreational programs, other local clubs, or “in-house games” (within the program). Players will play in the 2v2 and 4v4 format for the Fall and Spring seasons. Players could transition at some point in the Spring season to a larger format (7v7), it's not an expectation. Special Note for Parents - PLEASE READ! This program is not going to be for everyone as it goes against some of the current traditions regarding team formation and game day events. In the past, U8 players were scheduled to play in the U10 recreational league. If you are only focused on winning or how many goals your player scores, then this program will more than likely not be a good fit for your needs. The program is designed to provide what is best for individual player development. No coaching will be allowed from the parent sideline, either directed at your player or other players. Contact: |
